This sauce is oh-so-delicious. I used it to top potatoes, salads and even seitan. I bet it would be good on pasta and on sandwiches too. It's pretty mild but has a wonderful creamy texture. It'll surely make you say "mmm".
Mmm Sauce
Adapted from Peas and Thank You
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup almonds
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup chickpeas
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
2 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp minced garlic
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp paprika
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp dried oregano
Throw all the ingredients into a Vitamix or food processor and mix until smooth. This will last in the fridge for up to a week, that is if you don't eat it first.
MMMM.
this sauce looks yummy and really creamy. I bet it would taste good on all those things you mentioned. Kinda looks like a diluted hummus. YUM!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it kinda does. But, the taste is way different. A little cheesier from the nutritional yeast. It's a winner. Try it!
DeleteI've seen this sauce scattered around so many different blogs but have put off making it for so long. I love nooch so will have to give it a try soon!
ReplyDeleteSame here actually. I bookmarked it months ago but only made it recently. I think the original recipe calls for curry powder...which ironically, I don't have. But, this spice mix works well too!
