Squeaky Clean

I hatehatehate when my apartment is dirty. It's something that I just cannot stand. So, this afternoon when I realized how gross my kitchen was and how badly my bathroom needed a scrub down, cleaning the apartment was my number one priority.

I went about taking out the trash, vacuuming, scrubbing the tub, sink and stove. I even did a few loads of laundry including a load of sheets. It feels SO good to have a squeaky clean apartment!

Now, onto the food and the rest of the day.

I started out with my super green juice.

Almost the same composition as yesterday- 3 green apples, a head of romaine lettuce, 1/4 head of cabbage, 1/4 green bell pepper, 4 stalks of celery, 2 leaves of kale and 3-4 leaves of red chard.

The extra red chard gave it a really pretty color.

I am not a really big exerciser. I have always wanted to be but I am never able to keep it going and make it a habit. I know all the benefits and love how it makes me feel but dragging my butt to the gym is the last thing I want to do. But, I am not giving up. I am trying again. So, after juicing I headed to the gym for a quick and easy 30 min elliptical session while watching TV. I then came home and got working on all that cleaning. Then showered and finished up laundry.

Today I really had more of a linner/dunch. (Which one do y'all say?) I got wrapped up in cleaning and didn't notice the time passing. Anyway, I had a chinese food craving so I threw together a stir-fry.

I marinated onions, mushrooms and green beans in a mixture of 1 tbsp Bragg's, 1/3 cup water, 4 cloves garlic, an inch of grated ginger and a pinch of red chili flakes.

I let it hang out for about 20 mins (I'm not known for my patience when it comes to food) and then threw it all into a pan and sauteed it up until the veggies were tender.

Served over brown rice, of course.

It was really delicious but it was a little heavy on the Bragg's. Even though I diluted it, it was still a little salty. Next time I'm definitely going to cut the Bragg's in half. I don't think you would really even notice. The ginger, garlic and chili give it quite a kick. Bragg's was really just there to support.

I'm skipping the fruit today. I polished off the rest of my dried mango last night while watching a movie. Enough sugar for the weekend.

I am tackling a chapter of Dietary Healing this evening. Then possibly a movie or a few episodes of something on Netflix.

Hope everyone is having a pleasant day!
