Catch Up Post

Hi! Man, being without a laptop is like being without your right arm. But, all is well now. I'm back online and back to blogging and being productive.

Let me catch you up.

MONDAY
Juiced, ate more leftovers and then my mama made me this.

A channa masala that kinda blew my mind. It was sweet, spicy, fragrant and damn good. I wish she had a recipe. She kinda just throws things together in a pot and wishes for the best. And, it works! When I try to recreate the magic, I am always off the mark. Mom's special touch, I guess. Anyway, this was dinner along with a few rye tortillas made with mashed carrots instead of water. The tortillas smelled buttery and delicious. It made such a great pair!

I topped off the meal with the last of the strawberries. I'm glad these are over. I am all berried out.

We also went to watch the last installment of Harry Potter. I cried like a baby, which I'm not that ashamed of. I can easily conjure up tears. I cry in real life for lots of things. Real life tears come around for frustration, Humane Society ads, and for anything having to do with soldiers (going to war, coming home, getting injured, etc.) I'm also the loser that cries for really “proud” moments, like at my little brother's orchestra concerts or graduations or when kids leave for college. So, yes, I cried like four times during this movie. And, since I tend to cry more in movie theaters when no one can see me, I was literally sobbing at the end. I was crying because Harry, Hermione and Ron were so proud to send their kids away. I was crying because it was the end of an era. I was crying because it was the end of my childhood. I had a moment. I grew up with Harry, Hermione and Ron. I was 10 when I first discovered them. Now, at 22, they bring back fond memories of book releases, heated lunch time debates and late nights reading in my parents' closet. I will miss Harry Potter. But, I can’t wait to introduce my favorite characters to my kids someday.

TUESDAY
Yesterday was a packed day- full of errands and um, protein. I started out with a juice and then some more of the channa masala and carrot-rye tortillas. I then headed out to run a few errands. I came back, unloaded the car and ate a small bowl of indian spiced chickpeas with brown rice and green mango.

My dad and I then left to take my car in for a new bumper which has been on our to-do list for over 10 months. This weekend will be a spa weekend for my car- new bumper, state inspection, car wash, and vacuuming.

Dinner was...

a bowl of spiced black eyed peas with green mango and lemon juice,

a quinoa stuffed pepper,

and a pluot.

Ok, now you guys are all caught up! You really didn't miss too much, did you?
