Over the weekend, my parents and I had a discussion about my brother. Being 8 years older, and 10 years older education-wise, I am a strong part of the parenting team. In all honesty, they don't "consult" me because I am wise or anything, they do it because in the end, Rishab will listen to me. Anyway, when we were talking I said that we need to come up with a strategic plan for Rishab. I explained to them how an organization would do it and how many of the same principles can be applied to us and our lives.
While thinking about it later on, I realized that I don't have a strategic plan. And, I realized how much I could benefit from going through the process. Of course, my strategic plan has a lot of different elements but one I want to share with you is my health & wellness plan.

Back in July 2011, I decided to take on healthy eating. This to me meant increasing the volume of vegetables consumed, cutting out overly processed foods and watching everything from salt and sugar to caffeine and oil. (I was already a vegan but just ate a lot of processed vegan foods.) Initially, I went a little too hardcore and wasn't able to cope with the stress of it. I've eased up a bit since then. Overall, I've come a long way but, in the words of Robert Frost, I've got miles to go before I sleep.
I have visions of having a love affair with kale and being an avid juicer. I have dreams of running races and glowing from the inside out. I want those things. I want to move beyond the status quo. But, Rome wasn't built in a day.
I want to actively chase my dreams. So, I've decided to start a series on the blog: The Next Level Series. It's all about taking my life to the next level (duh). Basically, every Monday I am going to pick a health/wellness goal for myself. Some of these goals might be things I've tried but need to be more consistent with and others might be completely new to me. Either way, it will help me work towards optimum well-being. I'm also going to do a little research on the benefits of my various goals and share them with you. It will give me a chance to break down my goal into small attainable chunks. And, being able to share it with you guys will keep me accountable.
I'm really excited to start this up! This week, I am going to do an assessment of my strengths and weaknesses and gear up for the journey ahead.
Hope you'll stick around and check it out!
Great post- I'm looking fwd to seeing what the next few weeks have in store for you!
