Eleven Eleven Eleven

Hmm, I wonder how many weddings happened on Friday.

My Friday was a long work day with lectures about performance management and executive coaching. It was interesting, but I was exhausted by the end of it all.

I was up at 5am and went about getting ready. I made a green juice...

...and packed up a lunch and breakfast.

Once on site, I prepped some stuff and then ate breakfast.

This was the best breakfast I have had in a while! I made it the night before with some leftover quinoa, chopped dried mango, shaved coconut, walnuts and a mixture of seeds. My original plan was to drown the thing in some thinned out almond milk and a little maple syrup but I discovered that the last of the almond milk developed a funky smell. So, I used some skim milk I had on hand (that was to become yogurt when I felt up for it). I also used about a tablespoon or so of maple syrup. SO SO good. I ended up making the same thing for brunch this morning.

I brought a packed lunch of leftover roasted veggies over spinach but ended up ordering off the menu at the last minute.

Grilled veggies-- cauliflower, bell pepper, asparagus, broccolini, onions, squash, zucchini, corn, tomatoes and mushrooms. This was so unbelievably good. I think it was sprinkled with crack or something. I mean, honestly, grilled vegetables should not taste that good. I actually asked the waiter what was going on and he said that it was just grilled with olive oil and no additional salt or seasoning. I don't believe him.

Anyway, I drank my carrot juice in the mid-afternoon between lectures. We eventually wrapped up at 5pm and I was home by 5:30pm. I ate part of the packed salad and fell asleep at about 7:30pm. I'm a party animal!

I spent most of today in bed and finished up The Solitude of Prime Numbers. It was an unbelievable read. I would highly recommend this book. The author, Paolo Giordano, is a really beautiful writer. He actually has his PhD in particle physics and cranked out this book for fun. It has gotten some really great press and is now a movie (in Italian though). The dude's easy on the eyes too.

Anyway, I am hunting for my next read. I am trying to choose between the following two books.

Oprah recommended this one back in August and it's been on my to-read list since then. It was also recommended to me by Amazon.

I feel like I should conform and give this a read.

Thoughts?
