Halloween Weekend

Let me quickly catch you up on Friday. Friday was session 3 for work. By now, you know these Friday sessions are brutal. Although, we provide food (and fancy food at that), it's hardly ever the kind of food I am looking for. So, I pack an entire days worth of food and while everyone eats their sandwiches and chips, I quietly pull out my packed lunch.

Anyway, I was up at 5:30am on Friday and out the door by 6:30am. I was on campus for a last minute errand and then off to the conference center. After setting up, I checked email/news while eating my packed breakfast.

Yogurt, crumbled slice of maple apple spice cake and a few raspberries.

We started up our usual brain dump by 8am. And took a break for lunch at about noon when I quickly pulled out my tupperware and started eating.

Spinach, peppers, onions, mung bean sprouts, cucumber and tomato. Lime & cilantro dressing was also used. (LOVE this dressing!)

I rounded out lunch with a gala apple and some raw pecan butter for dipping.

After class, I headed to MC's house to hang out and chat. We eventually (after about 3 hours of gossiping) got our butts out of bed and got ready to go out.

We headed out to Montrose and met up with a large group of party people.

I got home around 1am and headed straight to bed. Most of my Saturday was also spent in bed. I read and napped most of the day away. Eventually Halloween prep was under way.

I was mega lazy on Saturday so I didn't really eat anything. I did eat an apple around 6pm though.

I had a few people over for a small pre-party. They brought their own beer and I sipped on a kombucha.

Remember the lion costume? With the help of some internet tutorials, it came together.

We headed first to Valhalla, a graduate student bar on Rice University's campus, and then out to Montrose for the annual pub crawl. We only ended up doing one bar before people got too tired/drunk.

Driving around like a lion was my favorite part. :)

I got home a little past 2am and went directly to bed. It was a fun Halloween weekend. Overall, I'm glad MC and I decided to partake in the festivities this year.

Alright, off to tackle my granola project.
