Friday the Thirteenth

Friday started out bright and early with a fresh green smoothie. Tangelo oranges, spinach and flax seeds. Simple, easy and delicious.

I was at my work session all day. We had a long but productive session on strategic planning. We also talked about media relations today. We took a break for lunch where I loaded up on salad and a few pieces of cantaloupe.

The salad was a little weird. It tasted pretty funny, kinda briny. I wasn't a big fan. But, it held me over long enough.

After the work session, I headed back to the office and knocked out some emails and homework. I went home and fixed myself a huge jass salad.

Spinach, chard, kale, cauliflower, jicama, carrots, celery, zucchini and green grapes. The green grapes were a brilliant (and tasty) addition!

I made a dressing out of my mom's salt-free mint chutney, a few almonds and a little water. It took about an hour to eat this baby. It was delicious and mighty filling.

But, not filling enough to ignore my sweet tooth...

I called my dad to complain about this mango. He called me an idiot. That's what I get for buying mangoes at Whole Foods. I'm not sure why I expected them to taste good. I've been spoiled by Indian mangoes. Darn my heritage.

Anyway, I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but I'm moving! I'll be working at a hospital that is about 45 mins away from my current place of residence. For Houston, that is a decent commute. For Prathiba, that is hell.

So, I'm moving. I started packing and it was a pretty productive first sweep.

Post-packing and a little cleaning, I gathered my things for Austin. I made the drive in about 2.5 hours and developed an appetite on the way. I put together a quick snack of a piece of sprouted wheat toast with peanut butter and microwaved strawberries.

I stayed up late chatting with my parents and watching a really random movie on Netflix with the family. A great start to the weekend!
